"My wife wanted a "cute" chicken coop that she could stand up in and I made the mistake of promising her it as part of her Christmas present. Being the DIY'er that I am I was planning on designing and building it myself but after pricing materials and figuring the time it was going to take I quickly realized it wasn't going to be worth it. I told my wife that we had to purchase a kit. My wife found the Little Cottage Co online and loved the Gambrel Barn Chicken Coop so I told her to order it. What a smart choice. The assembly was simple and we had the structure up in less that a day without the use of my circular saw. I had the roof on and had it run with electricity and the entire process took less than 3 days of work. If I would have build it myself it would have took me two months of weekends. I'm very happy with my purchase and the quality of the building materials. Would highly recommend Little Cottage Co."

"I am giving an honest review. Its definitely the best coop for the size and price, overall I am very hapy. 1. Quality parts and very sturdy. Very nice look too. 2. Hardware ok quality and wood is mostly decent quality. White trim finish nails are absolute crap. 3. While I appreciate color photo instructions these sucked. Photos are limited and missing key details and are grainy. Why do you not have a short install video? No excuses in 2025…. Would be super easy and much more helpful (I build lots of things so am no novice). 4. Great quality window, nesting box, and door. 5. Excellent rear door and latch. Love heavy duty hardwared window. 6. Not thrilled you have to shingle and paint but it is what it is. 7. My biggest complaint besides crap instructions is the sled style legs. They look great but you screw to only 2 of 4 sides and if you try to move the shed they bend inwards terribly. Horrible design. Had to fix and support with side 4x4s. Not at all happy about that."

"By far the best coop for the money. Sturdy, looks great, roomy, and high quality materials. Decent shipping speed. Not a huge fan of having to paint and especially roof it at my expense but overall very happy."

"It's a beautiful coop, heavy duty and quality materials. The instructions have a ton of typos, not enough information, and our pieces were not labeled, and the parts that were supposed to have pre drilled holes didn't. It definitely would have been a struggle for less handy people/people who haven't put things like this together before."

"We have assembled our chicken coop and the girls are happy! Customer service talked us though the order, delivery, and unexpected issues with putting our coop together. We have 8 hens and so we plan to add one more roosting bar for them inside. Initially we wanted to free range our girls but decided to install a run for better protection. As for the coop, the packaging for delivery was top notch. The building instructions were easy to follow but not always as thorough as we would have preferred. We also might add a support to the laying boxes. It seems like they need the support but it might be unnecessary. The handles and latches are in just the right places for security. The only thing we have left to do is add the trim paint and finish our run."

"I was looking for a chicken coop that was a better quality than the big box stores. This coop fit that requirement perfectly! The panels made construction easier than expected. Added our own paint and shingles and it fits right in with our other buildings! I think the Girls will be very happy in their new house!"
